⭐GCES is excited to announce the launch of our Buddy Reading Program!! ⭐ Every month, one 30-minute session is set aside for the students to read together. This program also serves as peer mentoring, where older students are paired with younger students. Buddy Reading allows younger readers to see what being a fluent reader looks like as they have a peer model demonstrating reading skills, and these younger students also acquire positive role models. The older students are able to develop social and emotional skills like patience and empathy as they work with their littler buddies.
