🎶Our Gilmer County Elementary students were invited to attend a special sneak peek of the GSU Percussion Ensemble as it made its return to the university—and it was nothing short of amazing! Our students experienced an unforgettable performance, recognizing many of the songs and even singing along. It was truly a touching moment for everyone in attendance. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kirk, Associate Professor of Music at GSU for the invitation and for providing such an incredible opportunity. We would like to introduce our GCES Wildcat Student Council and Peer Mentor groups! 🎉 Our Peer Mentor group is made up of dedicated 5th grade students, while Student Council includes representatives from each homeroom in grades 3–5. This gives our young Wildcats something exciting to look forward to as they grow! 🐾 Mrs. Busby and Mrs. Goodnight have worked hard to establish these groups, and our students are already showing leadership, teamwork, and kindness throughout our school. 💙 #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

🚒🔥 Today our students had a special visit from the Gilmer County Volunteer Fire Department! Students learned all about fire safety, explored real equipment, and even got hands-on experience using a fire hose 🚿👏 Thank you to our local firefighters for taking the time to teach and keep our community safe—we appreciate you! #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

☀️ GCES Title I Parent Breakfast ☀️ We invite all families to join us for our annual Parent Breakfast on May 1st at 9:00 AM in the Gilmer County Elementary School cafeteria! 🥐🍊 This is a great opportunity to enjoy breakfast together while we share important information about our Title I program, including our Parent-Family Engagement Policy, Strategic Plan, and beginning-of-year paperwork. Your voice matters, and we value your partnership in supporting our students! 📣 Also coming home this week: Our annual Title I surveys will be sent home with students. This survey helps us gather feedback to strengthen home-school partnerships.
