Due to today’s early release, there will be NO after-school program and NO basketball practices.

All schools in Gilmer County will be closing 3 hours early on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.

Last week, Mrs. Coombs and Mrs. Skinner’s class had a special visitor! Dawn Bailey brought a Blooming Christmas Tree chemistry craft where students watched liquid turn into crystal “trees.” 🌲✨ She also read a great book and passed out stickers. Lots of excitement in Mrs. Moyers and Mrs. Loudin’s Kindergarten class yesterday morning! Their classroom elf, Charley, made his big return from the North Pole. 🎅🎄 Former students even stopped by to say hi—they remembered Charley well! ✨ Preschool Fun in the Kitchen! ✨ Our preschoolers had a butter-making adventure last week 🧈💛 With help from Daisy Bailey from the Extension Office, students shook, mixed, and giggled their way to homemade butter — just in time to enjoy it with our rolls! Thank you, Daisy, for such a fun and tasty hands-on experience! 🥖🤍

🦃🍿 First Grade Fun! 🍿🦃 Mrs. Allman (Mrs. Beall’s) and Ms. Stalnaker’s 1st grade classes had the best Thanksgiving-themed day! 🧡 Students made festive Thanksgiving placemats, watched Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving, and enjoyed a fun little feast of popcorn, jellybeans, pretzels, and apple cider — just like the classic cartoon! 🎬✨ We loved seeing their creativity, smiles, and excitement. #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Our 5th graders earned a Dirty Soda Celebration for all their hard work—mixing up fizzy creations and lots of laughs 🎉 These Wildcats have been giving it their all, and we loved celebrating them in the sweetest (and bubbliest!) way! #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

We are so thankful for our amazing Wildcat community and the joy your children bring to our school each day. 💙🤍 Before we head into the holiday, we wanted to share a fun highlight from this week — our Penny War boxes dressed as turkeys, adding a little extra excitement and laughter for our Wildcats. 🦃💰 We hope everyone has a safe, restful, and happy break. From Mrs Leggett: 🎼🎤🎹🥁 The Gilmer County Elementary Music Program would like to thank everyone who donated to our recent “Un”Fundraiser. Through your incredible generosity we raised over $3400! We would like to extend a very special thank you to Glenville Auto for their donation of $500. Our field trip to the WV Symphony Orchestra Concert on November 20th was fully funded and we will be able to purchase several new things for our music room. During this season of Thanksgiving we are truly grateful to our community for its support of our young musicians. #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

💙 Kindergarten Goal-Getters! 💙 Mrs. Price’s and Mrs. Debbie’s Kindergarten class set an exciting goal: earn 40 scores of 100% in i-Ready to earn special playtime with the big blue blocks! 🎉 More 67th Day Fun in Kindergarten! 🎉 Mrs. Moyers’ and Mrs. Loudin’s Kindergarten class also joined in on the 67th day of school celebration with a special “6–7 Day!” Their students enjoyed exciting activities.
