🍁 67th Day of School Fun in Kindergarten! 🦃🎉 Mrs. Coombs’ and Mrs. Skinner’s classes celebrated our 67th day of school with tons of fun, hands-on learning! Students made festive headbands, counted to 67 using games and edible manipulatives, enjoyed a “67-Day” coloring contest, and even played a special round of Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Turkey! A huge thank-you to Mrs. Ceterika Dobbins for volunteering her time to lead several Thanksgiving crafts with our Kindergarteners. The kids had a blast and went home with adorable creations and personalized goodie bags. We love learning through fun at GCES! 💙🦃✨#GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Attention Parents and Guardians of Gilmer County Schools Students,
We are excited to share that the Gilmer County High School Volleyball Team will be participating in the WV State Volleyball Tournament today and tomorrow. If the team wins both matches today—scheduled for 1:30 PM and 8:00 PM—Gilmer County Schools will plan for a four-hour early release on Thursday, November 13th.
This adjustment is necessary due to staffing limitations and to ensure we have transportation available for the volleyball game. If both games are won today, parents will receive a confirmation phone call this evening as a courtesy, allowing time to make arrangements for your children.
Again, if the Volleyball Team wins both competitions today, Gilmer County Schools will have a four-hour early release on Thursday, November 13th.
Thank you for your understanding and support—and Go Titan Volleyball!

At Gilmer County Elementary, students are learning what it means to be real writers! Through our Top Score Writing lessons, they are building strong foundations in organizing ideas, using transitions, and adding details that bring their stories to life.
Writing isn’t just a classroom skill—it’s a lifelong tool for thinking, expressing, and connecting. Families can encourage writing at home by inviting children to journal about their day, write stories together, or share letters with loved ones. 📝
