✨ Building Strong Number Sense with Subitizing! ✨

Subitizing is when students can quickly recognize how many objects are in a group without counting one by one. This important skill builds strong number sense and helps make addition and math facts easier and faster. We’re growing those math brains every day! 🧠➕

Peace, love, and learning! ✌️ Happy 60-day countdown! Kindergarten celebrated in their tie-dyed clothing, and had a small party. They went outside and enjoyed extra recess. #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Our Pre-K friends enjoyed a special “Snuggle & Read” event! 📚💙 Each student received a book and materials to create a cozy tie lap blanket with a family member. After making their blankets, they snuggled up together and enjoyed reading time. Our Mini-Titan wrestlers stopped by on Friday before heading out to compete in WVYWA Tournament and we made sure to send them off with lots of school spirit! 🖤💙

Mrs. Thorne and Mrs. Smith’s first grade class has been busy learning in Social Studies! 🇺🇸✨ Students researched important American symbols and landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Flag, and even the Bald Eagle. They worked hard creating posters filled with facts, drawings, and pictures, then proudly presented their projects to their classmates. We love seeing our Wildcats building confidence, practicing speaking skills, and learning about our country all at the same time. #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool
